Wins Women in Transport Award.....

Faber Maunsell’s Dawn Fisher, one of the project managers for the Freight Best Practice programme, has scooped the Newcomer of the Year prize at the MAN Truck & Bus UK Everywoman in Transport & Logistics Awards.

Dawn joined the transport and engineering consultancy Faber Maunsell in 2005, having studies mathematics at Bangor University. She has been working on the programme for the past 3 years and has become an integral part of the team. She has become known within the industry as a person who will deliver results and looks set to have a long and successful career within the transport and logistics sector.

Based at the company’s Altrincham office, Dawn works for Faber Maunsell’s Sustainable Transport Group. ‘I discovered my ideal job completely by accident and had never heard of this type of career before.’ Dawn said. ‘It is increasingly important for companies to encourage more women to apply for transport jobs with the current skills shortage and I hope these awards help inform and encourage more women to consider a career in transport’.

The Everywoman awards recognise the contribution women make to the freight industry and are designed to encourage more women to take up professions within the transport sector. The awards ceremony took place at the Marriott in Grosvenor Square, London on 12th June.
