Freight Best Practice News

Drivers and truck operators are invited to join the Freight Best Practice team at the forthcoming Truckfest which is being held on 31 May – 1 June at the Kent County Showground, Detling.
The team will be located in the Transport Operators’ Lounge, and drivers and operators are invited to come along and meet the team and share new ideas about best practice. All programme publications will be on hand for drivers and operators to discuss and take away, which are completely free of charge as usual.

On display will be one of the programme’s newest resources; the ‘Fuel Efficient Drivers Handbook’ which has been specifically designed for drivers and is full of facts and hints on how to achieve fuel efficient and safe driving. The pocket size booklet offers an easily accessible point of reference to help achieve the goals of efficient driving. The handbook contains:

• Cost analysis
• Anti-idling posters
• Factors affecting fuel consumption
• Fundamentals of the SAFED scheme (Safe And Fuel Efficient Driving)
• Examples of vehicle check forms and driver debrief sheets
