Freight Best Practice Helps Save Industry &...

In a recent independent assessment, it was shown that the Freight Best Practice programme has helped save industry £190m over the past two years. This impressive figure is just one of many positive results to come out of the independent assessment commissioned by the Department for Transport. Other key findings include:

  • The programme has directly attributed to saving 240,000 Tonnes of CO2 over the past 2 years
  • Operators who use the programme experience substantial savings of around £41,000 compared to the £12,000 saved by those taking their own approach to fuel savings
  •  The number of operators who use the programme has increased since 2003 by 80%, with 9% of operators now using at least one aspect of the programme
  • The report highlights the quality of the publications and a whopping 93% of users would recommend the programme to someone doing a similar job to them.

These results show that the Freight Best Practice programme works and has helped the freight industry improve its efficiency dramatically. As a result, participating in the programme should now form an essential part of an operators’ business and if it’s not, they’re literally pouring their profits down the drain.

Freight Best Practice has something to offer owners, directors, managers and drivers. Everything produced by the programme is available entirely FREE OF CHARGE.
