Freight Best Practice Scotland - a free advice scheme aimed at improving the efficiency of the Scottish freight industry by promoting operational efficiency and CO2 reductions within road, rail and waterways - was launched  on Friday 7th November by the Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Climate Change, Stewart Stevenson at the Transport News Scottish Rewards 2009 in Glasgow.

Speaking at the launch, Stewart Stevenson said 'This Government is committed to an 80% reduction in emissions by 2050, the most ambitious statutory target anywhere in the world. Transport, and the freight industry in particular, have an important role to play in this effort.
