Fuel Efficiency Intervention Trials Guide
...Published By Freight Best Practice
The Freight Best Practice programme has published a new FREE guide entitled Fuel Efficiency Intervention Trials - How to Test and Save which is designed to guide operators through the process of accurately testing, monitoring and evaluating different interventions to help determine what investment is most relevant for their operation.
Current economic and environmental pressures mean operators are always looking to reduce their costs and emissions. One way of achieving this is by trialling a device or system that is designed to improve fuel efficiency such as IT, telematics, aerodynamics, tyres etc. Manufacturers and suppliers of fuel interventions may claim that a certain level of efficiency improvements can be expected through the use of a product or service; however this is often the best-case scenario.
The guide outlines the importance of testing any intervention within the actual operating conditions faced by a fleet and includes case studies which highlight how real life operators have tested various interventions. It provides a simple 12 step process that any transport operator can follow to implement a fuel efficiency intervention within their fleet.
The Fuel Efficiency Intervention Trials Guide is completely free of charge as are all Freight Best Practice publications, and can be obtained by calling the Freight Best Practice Hotline on 0845 877 0 877 or by visiting www.freightbestpractice.org.uk
