Calling All Transport and Logistics student...

.... Become the 2009 Freight Best Practice Student of the Year

Freight Best Practice are once again running a Student of the Year essay competition which is open to all UK based University students and requires a 2,500 word or less essay answering the question 'The Carbon Challenge - what measures should the logistics industry be taking to reduce its carbon footprint?'

The 2009 competition is sponsored by award winning transport consultancy Faber Maunsell and the winning student will receive a prize of £500 and a trophy which will be presented at the CILT's Logistics Research Network Conference 2009, where travel and accommodation will be provided.

The author of the winning essay will also have the chance to complete a Student Placement working with the Freight Best Practice team either at the Department for Transport or within Faber Maunsell and will hold the impressive title of '2009 Freight Best Practice Student of the Year' which will stand out on any CV to future employers.

Essays should avoid duplicating existing work and be creative and practical in nature. Please incorporate diagrams or photographs as these will help illustrate your ideas. Full entries must be received by 24th April 2009, with the winning author being notified in May.
