Multi-modal Map – Coming Soon!
An innovative and exciting new interactive tool will soon be available to access from the website. The Freight Best Practice Interactive Multi-modal Map provides details of ‘open user’ multi-modal facilities. The tool utilises standard Google MapsTM functionality to display the locations on a map.
Information and contact details can be viewed for a range of facilities across the UK – rail terminals, sea ports, river ports and rail connected ports. The map offers a coherent and easily accessible overview of current services and allows operators to investigate the potential opportunities to use non-road modes and to use the most efficient solution to transport their goods.
Keep an eye out on the website and in eNews for more information on the release of this new tool.
Programme Contact Details – Changing in April
From April 2010 Freight Best Practice will have a new Hotline number. The new 0300 prefix is for Governmental and not for profit organisations and is low cost from both landlines and mobiles. As usual it will be available between 9am and 5pm on weekdays.
We will also have a new web address via Business Link. This site brings together a lot of guidance for transport businesses, providing useful online services, advice and best practice. It also gives easy access to more information and guidance on running other parts of your business.
Stand by for more information on the new Hotline and website address in the coming weeks.
Commercial Vehicle Operator Show
The Freight Best Practice team will be at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Operator Show from the 13th-15th April 2010 at the NEC in Birmingham. We will be at Stand 5671, so please come and see us and find out how the programme can help you improve your operational efficiency. We’ll be showcasing the new Transport Operators’ Pack (TOP) updates which have been specifically designed for Managers and Trainers of Drivers, Fleet Engineers and Smaller Operators.
As usual, we will have an extensive range of our FREE guides and support material for you to take away. We look forward to seeing you there, but if you can’t make the show, you can, as always, visit the Freight Best Practice website or call the Hotline to obtain FREE copies of our material.
